For a one bed in the city, we think it's surprisingly roomy, especially the living area. There's a desk to work from if you're in town on business, a four-seater dining table and a well-appointed kitchen, which has everything home chefs need to rustle up a meal or two. The bedroom is snug, but it's a cosy place to rest your head, and the location is pretty great, too. Greenpoint is a quiet pocket of Brooklyn, famous for its Polish eateries and vintage stores.

Though the commute to Manhattan is a little long – the G-train is a ten-minute walk away – there's a creative, community spirit here that's hard to resist.
